Most NFT marketplace websites were built for people who already understood NFTs. They alienated the two audiences Momint needed most — first-time buyers exploring the space cautiously, and businesses evaluating NFTs as a commercial opportunity.

The brief: design a website that built trust first, and converted second.

Project Manager and Design Lead. Research, affinity mapping, wireframing, stakeholder presentations, and design iterations through to launch.

User research across two distinct segments — new NFT buyers and businesses. The finding that shaped everything: most users interested in the NFT space weren't ready to buy yet. They were looking for a trusted source of information to return to when they were.

That reframed the design challenge entirely. The website wasn't just a marketplace entry point — it was a trust-building platform.

Affinity mapping condensed the research into three design principles: easy to understand, educational, and commercially inspiring for businesses.

A clean, editorial website that led with clarity and education rather than product listings. Key MVP features:

Intuitive interface with minimal jargon. Contextual guidance and education resources for new users. Dedicated section showcasing NFT use cases for businesses. Search functionality. User account access for buying and selling.

Mood boards and inspiration decks presented to stakeholders early to align on aesthetic direction before wireframes were built. Multiple iteration rounds with stakeholder sign-off at each stage.

Launched successfully. Positive feedback from both target segments — new buyers found it approachable, businesses found the use case framing compelling. The trust-first positioning differentiated Momint from technically-focused competitors.
